私の名前は金南俊、通称 RM です。BTS のリーダーを務めています。
My name is Kim Nam-joon, also known as RM, the leader of the group BTS.
今日の若者たちにとって非常に意義深いこの機会に招かれたことは、本当に光栄です。
It is an incredible honor to be invited to an occasion with such significance重要性 for today's young generation.
昨年 11 月、私たちはユニセフと『Love Myself』キャンペーンを開始しました。それは、真の愛はまず自分自身を愛することから始まると信じているからです。
Last November, BTS launched the Love Myself campaign运动 with UNICEF, built on our belief that true love first begins with loving myself.
私たちはユニセフの『暴力根絶プログラム』と連携し、世界中の子供や若者を暴力から守る活動を行っています。
We've been partnering合作 with UNICEF's End Violence program to protect children and young people all over the world from violence.

And our fans have become a major part of this campaign with their action and with their enthusiasm.

まずは私自身についてお話ししましょう。
And I'd like to begin by talking about myself.
私はソウル近郊のイルサンという町で生まれました。
I was born in Ilsan, a city near Seoul, South Korea.
そこは湖や丘があり、毎年花の祭りが開かれるとても美しい場所です。
It is a really beautiful place with a lake, hills, and even an annual flower festival.
そこで幸せな子供時代を過ごし、ただの普通の少年でした。
I spent a very happy childhood there, and I was just an ordinary boy.
夜空を見上げて不思議に思い、少年の夢を見ていました。
I used to look up at the night sky and wonder, and I used to dream the dreams of a boy.
世界を救えるスーパーヒーローだと想像していました。
I used to imagine that I was a superhero who could save the world.
初期のアルバムの一つのイントロには、「心が止まったのはたぶん 9 歳か 10 歳の頃」という歌詞があります。
In an intro to one of our early albums, there's a line that says, "My heart stopped when I was maybe nine or ten."
振り返ってみれば、あの時こそが他人の評価を気にし始め、他人の目を通して自分を見るようになった瞬間だったのだと思います。
Looking back, I think that's when I began to worry about what other people thought of me and started seeing myself through透过 their eyes.
夜空や星を見上げるのをやめました。
I stopped looking up at the night skies, the stars.
空想することもやめました。
I stopped daydreaming.
代わりに、他人が作った型にはめようと必死になりました。
Instead, I just tried to jam myself into the molds模式 that other people made.
すぐに自分の声を遮断し、他人の声に耳を傾けるようになりました。
Soon, I began to shut out my own voice and started to listen to the voices of others.
誰も私の名前を呼ばず、私も呼ぶことはありませんでした。
No one called out my name, and neither did I.
心は止まり、目は閉ざされました。
My heart stopped, and my eyes closed shut.
こうして、私たちみんな名前を失いました。
So, like this, I, we, all lost our names.
まるで幽霊のようでした。
We became like ghosts.
しかし、一つだけ感覚がありました。それは音楽です。
But I had one sensory感官的, and that was music.
でも、私には一つだけ感覚がありました。それは音楽です。
There was a small voice inside of me that said, "Wake up, man, and listen to yourself."
心の奥で小さな声がこう言っていた。「目を覚ませ、自分自身に耳を傾けろ」と。
But it took me a long time to hear music calling my real name.
でも、音楽が私の本当の名前を呼ぶのを聞くまで、長い時間がかかりました。
Even after making the decision to join BTS, there were a lot of hurdles障碍.
BTS に加入すると決めた後も、多くの障壁がありました。
Some people might not believe, but most people thought we were hopeless.
信じられない人もいるかもしれませんが、多くの人々は私たちを希望がない存在だと思っていました。
And sometimes I just wanted to quit.
時々、やめたいと思いました。
