Uh, it's a huge honor.

음, 정말 영광입니다.

When we said we are artists from Korea, they didn't ask us about our music.

우리가 한국 출신 아티스트라고 말했을 때, 음악에 대해서는 묻지 않았습니다.

They asked, "Are you from North Korea or South Korea?"

그들은 이렇게 물었습니다. '북한입니까, 남한입니까?'라고요.

Where on earth is Korea?

도대체 한국이 어디냐고요.

So, we had to explain where Korea was before we could even talk about our music.

그래서 음악을 이야기하기 전에 먼저 한국의 위치를 설명해야 했습니다.

And that was the reality.

그것이 당시의 현실이었습니다.

But we overcame극복하다 those barriers장벽, and now I'm here today sharing this precious moment with you.

하지만 우리는 그 장벽을 극복했고, 오늘 이곳에서 이 소중한 순간을 여러분과 공유할 수 있게 되었습니다.

ARMY was the force that broke down those barriers.

ARMY가 바로 그 장벽을 무너뜨린 힘이었죠.

They used our music as the medium매체 to carry out conversations that cross borders and languages.

그들은 음악을 매개로 국경과 언어를 넘어 대화를 이어갔습니다.

They were inspired by the message in the music of BTS to give to charity, to run social campaigns, and, finally, the world was amazed놀라게 하다.

BTS 음악에 담긴 메시지에 감명받아 자선 활동과 사회 캠페인을 펼쳤고, 결국 세계가 놀라움을 금치 못했습니다.

Back then, ARMY was seen as supporters of a minority소수 culture from Asia.

당시에는 ARMY가 아시아의 소수 문화를 지지하는 팬으로 여겨졌습니다.

Now they shake the world as a new community and a fandom팬 집단 culture.

이제는 새로운 커뮤니티이자 팬 문화로서 세상을 흔들고 있습니다.

Even at this very moment, they're crossing borders and breaking down barriers through the pure power of cultural solidarity연대,

바로 지금도 그들은 문화적 연대의 순수한 힘으로 국경을 넘어 장벽을 무너뜨리고 있습니다.

and tolerance관용 that know no borders and is an endless source of creative inspiration for me as well.

또한 국경을 초월한 관용을 지니고 있으며, 이는 저에게도 끝없는 창의적 영감의 원천이 됩니다.

There is so much cultural content around the whole world.

전 세계에는 수많은 문화 콘텐츠가 있습니다.

But why K-pop?

그런데 왜 K-POP일까요?

Why is it so unique유일한?

왜 이렇게 독특한 걸까요?

Why does K-pop create this powerful and inclusive포괄적인 community?

왜 K-POP 은 이렇게 강력하고 포용적인 커뮤니티를 만들어낼 수 있을까요?

It's because of the special principle원칙 of unity of K-pop.

그것은 K-POP 고유의 '통일'이라는 원칙 때문입니다.

This is what enables people from such diverse다양한 backgrounds to come together just through the medium of K-pop.

이 원칙이야말로 다양한 배경을 가진 사람들을 K-POP 이라는 매개체를 통해 하나로 묶어주는 것입니다.

I'd like to compare K-pop music to bibimbap.

K-POP 음악을 비빔밥에 비유해보겠습니다.

And bibimbap is a traditional Korean dish.

비빔밥은 전통적인 한국 요리입니다.

You've got to taste it.

꼭 한 번 드셔보세요.

So, you take bap, which is rice, then you put all kinds of vegetables, meat, and flavorings on top and mix it all up.

먼저 밥을 준비한 뒤, 그 위에 각종 채소와 고기, 양념을 올리고 모두 섞으면 됩니다.

And that's the bibimbap part.

그렇게 하면 비빔밥이 완성됩니다.

And K-pop is much the same.

K-POP 도 마찬가지입니다.

You take Korea's unique aesthetics미학적인, emotions, and production system.

한국의 독특한 미학, 감정, 그리고 제작 시스템을 활용하되,

But you don't turn away from elements요소 of Western music like hip-hop, R&B, or EDM.

힙합, R&B, EDM 같은 서양 음악의 요소는 배제하지 않습니다.

Just like bibimbap, these parts all keep their unique identities정체성 but mix together to make something new, fresh, and delightful.

비빔밥처럼 각 부분은 고유한 정체성을 유지하면서도 섞여 새로운 것, 신선하고 즐거운 것을 만들어냅니다.

K-pop is not just a genre장르 of music.

K-POP 은 단순한 음악 장르가 아닙니다.
